Tomatoes

Caleb's favorite thing to learn about right now are tomatoes (aka TORNADOES!)!! We keep laughing every time we hear he practiced a "tomato drill" - too cute! It puts a huge smile on my face.

His other favorite thing is "fire power" which he talks about as if everyone has shooting fire capabilities and super power... who knew my 3 yr old would love Mario so much. We only let him play on the weekend, but swear he would play all day, every day if he could! And he's getting good at it too-scary!

Haircut

We like to save not only money, but the Drama of Caleb getting a haircut, so I've been doing it myself. In the past he's been Extremely squirmy, but he is actually getting a little better. It was time to give him a haircut - bangs were about in his eyes and hair was over his ears. Although the top of his hair started hanging towards the side and looked cute, but I'm just too nervous to let it grow any longer! He sure does look different after - older, which isn't good because he's growing up fast enough as it is!

Caleb enjoyed this haircut because we gave him a "cape". It was too big a neckline to Velcro so we had to tie it which was quite exciting for a 3 yr. Old who has started to worship superheroes.

Couple days after haircut - being silly  :)

Quick pics

Some random photos from my phone camera. He's quite the character to photograph!
Caleb loves Thomas the Train - We get very creative with his tracks
Mardis Gras celebration at church. He had 5x the amount of beads around his neck by the time we left!
Caleb's favorite headpiece - a crown he made in Sunday School. He wears it at least everyother day.
Waiting for Dad outside of REI
The cat at Great Grandpa & Grandma Eben's house
Next year we need to make a TRIPLE batch of nutmeg logs - Caleb LOVES them!

Growing up

Can't believe how long it has been since I've blogged - sorry. Caleb has been such a blessing in our lives and I'm enjoying every minute - even the temper-tantrums!

He has been learning at such a fast pace, it's amazing to witness. He's started writing 1 2 and 3 without our help, he can write his name if looking at it, he recognizes numbers 1-10, he can count to 20 by himself and then to 100 with little help, he's coloring better, and his imagination is soaring!!!! Have I bragged enough yet???? I'm so in love with the kid!

Caleb is a caring kid that loves his friends and family. He's never been a big cuddlebug, but when he is affectionate he goes all out. He gives great hugs and Eskimo kisses :)

bye-bye beetle

Daddy decided it was time to part with the beetle... but first, a little play time...

Once we finally got him to sit in his seat, we went for our last ride...
Caleb didn't last too long...

Goodbye Pre-baby Beetle!
We enjoyed you but now must move on to other things like lawn mowers and swing sets!

Family shots

Caleb came to one of his first concerts (other than school concerts).
He sat with Opa and Oma to watch a Big Band show at the Elkader Opera House.
He did a great job! His favorite song now is "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree" which Mom sang during the show.

The Schack and the Martin-Hiner Family
We're going to miss them SOOOO much when we move to WI.

We didn't get a photo at Easter, so this was a good day when we all looked nice at church.
It was our last day at Emmanuel as a family. We will miss it there.

Playing catch-up!

I know I've been away from posting about Caleb for FAR TOO LONG! But I'm going to try to make amends and post a bunch of pics. I won't get completely updated, but I'll at least get some fun ones in here!

Some March and April 2011 Pics...

Daddy is assembling Caleb's very first bike! Caleb is ecstatic!

Test driving inside

It took a bit, but he started to get the hang of it

Playing with "pay-do" - loves the stuff!

Caleb lined all of he cars up on the couch. They're each facing the same way and were in really good lines.
Mom and Dad were impressed!

Spending time with Dad before the big move to WI

Dying Easter Eggs - Caleb had a BLAST and did a great job.
I wish I had gotten a picture of his hands though - one was bright red and the other bright purple!

Caleb LOVED Easter eggs and everything that came with them - the basket, pulling them apart, and the treats to be found inside - especially when he found his "Marty's" (Smarties), his absolute favorite candy.
